We Are the Change (Part 4 of 5)

In our pursuit to bring about change in the world, we often rely on our own strength, intelligence, and abilities. While human effort is necessary, it is not sufficient to sustain us in the face of adversity. The challenges we face—whether they be injustice, spiritual warfare, or societal transformation—require more than what mere human effort can provide.

Without divine strength, our efforts become exhausting and ineffective. It is only by tapping into God’s unlimited power that we can truly bring about transformation in the world and in ourselves.

Tapping into God’s power requires a lifestyle of spiritual discipline. Prayer, faith, and consistency in our walk with God equip us for the journey ahead.

  1. Faith: Faith is the foundation of our strength. Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that “without faith it is impossible to please God.” Faith allows us to believe in what we cannot see, trust in God’s promises, and act with boldness even when circumstances seem impossible.

When we commit to these practices, we are strengthened from within, enabling us to stand firm even when opposition arises.

Just as a car cannot run indefinitely without refueling, we cannot continue our mission without regularly refilling our spiritual tank. Spending time in God’s presence is the key to maintaining our strength and avoiding burnout.

  1. Daily Devotion: Set aside intentional time with God every day. Whether it’s in the morning, during a lunch break, or before bed, make it a priority to connect with Him.
  2. Resting in God: Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is simply rest in God’s presence. Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Strength comes in the quiet moments where we surrender and allow God to work in us.

The Bible and history are filled with stories of individuals who achieved great victories not by their own might, but by relying on God’s strength.

  1. Elijah and the Prophets of Baal: Elijah stood alone against 450 false prophets. Through unwavering faith and prayer, God sent fire from heaven to prove His power and silence the opposition (1 Kings 18:20-40).

These stories remind us that when we depend on God’s strength, we can overcome the greatest obstacles and fulfill our divine purpose.

Human effort alone will never be enough to create lasting change. The strength to persevere, to stand boldly in truth, and to impact the world comes only from God. Through prayer, faith, and spiritual discipline, we stay connected to the divine source of power.
