The Ways of the Righteous and the Wicked (Poem)

In the dance of life, two paths unfold,
One woven with righteousness, the other, tales untold.
“Depart from evil and do good,” so we’re told,
To dwell in the light, to watch mysteries unfold.
For the LORD loves justice, His way is pure,
He forsakes not His saints; their preservation is sure.
The wicked may flourish like trees that seem secure,
Yet their days are numbered, their end not to endure.
The righteous speak wisdom; their words ring true,
With God’s law in their hearts, in all they pursue.
Their steps are firm, guided in everything they do,
While the wicked lie in wait, with intentions askew.
Yet, the LORD watches over the just,
In Him, they place their unwavering trust.
Though evil may seek to cast them into the dust,
Their cause is righteous; in this, they must.
Wait on the LORD, keep steadfast in His way,
For He shall lift you up, come what may.
The land will be yours, a heritage to stay,
As the wicked fade, like shadows at bay.
I’ve seen the wicked, in power so vast,
Spreading like a tree whose shadow is cast.
Yet, in a moment, they’re gone, their fate amassed,
Sought after, yet vanished into the past.
Mark the man of perfection, the upright in his course,
For his end is peace, not regret or remorse.
While transgressors are shattered, without force,
The wicked’s demise is an inevitable source.
Salvation of the righteous, from the LORD it comes,
Their strength is in trouble, beating like drums.
Delivered from evil, their victory hums,
Saved, for in Him, their heart strums.
So behold the tale of two diverging ways,
One to darkness, the other, light plays.
In the LORD’s salvation, the righteous stays,
For they trust in Him all their days.
