Don’t Dim Your Light (Poem)

In the depths of our soul, a fear resides,

 Not of our shortcomings but of the light we hide.

 For within us burns a flame so bright,

 Yet we cower in shadows, fearing its might.

Who are we to shine, we ask in doubt, 

To stand out from the crowd, to boldly sprout? 

But why shrink away from our brilliance so clear, 

When within us lies a power beyond compare?

We are not meant to diminish, to play small,

 For our light serves a purpose: to illuminate all. 

As children of God, we’re destined to soar, 

To let our radiance shine forevermore.

So don’t dim your light, let it blaze with pride,

 For in your brilliance, others find their guide. 

It’s not selfish to shine, it’s our divine right, 

To ignite the world with our heavenly light.

As we liberate ourselves from fear’s tight hold, 

Our presence becomes a beacon, strong and bold.

 For when we let our light shine, without restrain, 

We give others permission to do the same.
