The Battle of Two Natures (Poem)

The battle of two natures, a fight for control,

One seeks to bind, the other to make whole.

The mind of the flesh leads to death’s dark door,

Pursuing sin’s allure, craving always more.

Yet the mind of the Spirit brings life and peace,

Well-being that grows with divine increase.

Walking with God, both now and forever,

In His light, our hearts and souls are better

For the flesh desires what’s contrary to the Spirit,

In this conflict within our choices, we must clear it.

One pulls us to Earth, the other to the skies,

In this struggle for control, where our true self lies.

The Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak,

In this battle inside, it’s the Spirit we seek.

For when we live in the Spirit, peace we find,

Leaving the desires of the flesh behind.

In the battlefield of the heart and mind,

Where light and dark are closely entwined,

We must choose the path that leads to grace,

Walking with God in His holy embrace.

So let’s live in the Spirit, let His love unfold,

Guiding our steps, making us bold.

For in this divine light, we find our role,

In the eternal battle for the soul’s control.
