Where does good character come from, one might wonder,
A lot of it stems from our upbringing, like distant thunder.
Parents are often credited when their children shine bright,
For teaching them the way, guiding them in what’s right.
“Teach a child the way to go, and when they grow old,
They will not depart from it,” a truth often told.
Yet, if God has a plan and a purpose for our life,
Tribulation and trials shape us through joy and strife.
Experiences in life mold our behavior, character, and attitude,
Each situation faced shapes our gratitude.
It’s crucial to learn from each moment, every test,
For life itself is a lesson, teaching us to be our best.
You can’t be evil and wicked and expect no consequence,
Life has a way of balancing with perfect recompense.
Some people learn the hard way, through pain and regret,
But each lesson learned is a chance to be better yet.
“Do unto others as you would like done unto you,”
A golden rule that guides us in all we say and do.
We reap what we sow; for every action, there is a reaction,
In the fabric of life, this truth gains traction.
Good character is shaped by love, by trial, by grace,
In the hands of the divine, we find our place.
Through every experience, every rise and fall,
We learn, we grow, standing strong and tall.
So nurture the seeds of goodness, let them take root,
In the soil of life’s lessons, bearing righteous fruit.
For good character is a journey, a path we must tread,
Guided by the wisdom of the life we’ve led.
