A Prayer for those Suffering (Song)

As we close out this year, let’s take a moment to kneel,
Reflect on the pain, the wounds that need to heal.
2023, a chapter on trials and tests,
For many around the world, there’s been no rest.

In Gaza, Congo, and Sudan, the cries are loud,
Victims of hate that shrouds like a cloud.
Pain inflicted by the wickedness in man’s heart,
Tearing innocent lives apart.

We pray for peace, we pray for light,
In the darkest of times, in the hardest fight.
May 2024 open a new door,
To a world where love reigns forevermore.

For those behind the atrocities, lost in spiritual decay,
We pray for a change, for a better way.
It’s time for us all to grow, to rise,
Have encounters with the divine, open our eyes.

To the powers supporting such despair,
Your actions have spread darkness everywhere.
BIG SHAME on you for the pain you’ve endorsed,
God’s judgment is coming, a force to be reckoned, of course.

Children and people, so precious and pure,
Deserve a world safe, secure, and sure.
For those we’ve lost to cruelty’s hand,
We mourn your absence in every land.

We pray for the suffering, for hearts to mend,
For a world where on love we can depend.
May 2024 be the start,
Of a journey to healing together, not apart.
