Be Sober, Be Vigilant (Poem)

Be sober, be vigilant, the call resounds,
In balance and caution, on vigilant grounds.
The devil, like a lion, prowls to prey,
Seeking souls to seize, to lead astray.

Balance your being in the temperate state,
Against the foe who hungers, seeks to abate.
Be vigilant, cautious, every moment, every hour,
The devil’s roar withstands its power.

So be sober, be vigilant, the decree implores,
Against the enemy’s snares, against his wars.
With faith as armour, committed and true,
We endure, steadfast, in the spiritual view.
