(Verse 1)
In the 21st century, an alarming scene,
Genocide in Gaza a nightmare routine.
Bombs falling fast from taxpayers’ hands,
Hospital schools hit by unjust demands.
(Pre-Chorus)
It’s hard to grasp this twisted plight,
No rescue in sight, no beacon of light.
Over four thousand babies, gone by the hour,
Eleven thousand plus, under the power.
(Chorus)
We denounce all violence, but what can we see?
Two wrongs are never right, in reality.
Ceasefire now, end this gruesome show,
Stop the genocide; let compassion flow.
(Verse 2)
Western leaders are silent; where’s their call?
As the numbers rise, and the innocent fall.
A world civilized, yet lost in its doubt,
Mercy, we plead, in this dire clout.
(Pre-Chorus)
Mercy, Lord, in this unbearable state,
Too much to bear, this heavyweight.
In Your word, our solace resides,
Saviour of souls, where hope abides.
(Chorus)
What would Jesus do in this land of pain?
Facing genocide, what love would He ordain?
Ceasefire, the cry, amidst the strife,
For peace to reign, to bring back life.
(Bridge)
Have mercy on us in this darkest hour,
End the cleansing, restore our power.
In the midst of hate, let love take a stand,
For in unity and peace, we’ll reclaim the land.
(Chorus)
Ceasefire now, the resounding plea,
Halt the horror; let humanity see.
In the face of violence, let compassion start,
For healing begins with a ceasefire at heart.
