In the 21st century, a harrowing sight,
Genocide in Gaza, a world in blight.
Bombs raining down on hospitals and schools,
A civilized world, breaking its own rules.
Taxpayer’s dollars fueling the flame,
Churches and mosques bombed is a shame.
A crisis unfolds, no rescue in view,
Leaders silent as the casualties accrue.
Eyes can’t believe this tragic score,
Babies by the thousands, gone, no more.
Over eleven thousand, and the toll ascends,
A humanitarian crisis where pain transcends.
Violence is condemned, but what do we see?
Two wrongs never right what’s meant to be.
Ceasefire, the plea, amidst the strife,
End the cleansing, preserve a life.
Mercy, we beseech, in this tragic air,
Too heavy a burden, too much to bear.
In Your word, O Lord, our solace resides,
Savior of souls, where hope abides.
What would Jesus do in this cruel land,
Faced with genocide, a ruthless hand?
A beacon of mercy in a world so dark,
Extending love, leaving a lasting mark.
Ceasefire now, the fervent plea,
Stop the horror; let humanity see.
In the face of hatred, let compassion reign,
For in mercy and love, true healing’s gain.
