(Verse 1) The wicked’s deeds shall be cut away, But those who trust the Lord they’ll find their way. Inheritors of lands, where goodness takes its stand, For in the Lord’s embrace, we’ll firmly stand.
(Chorus) For just a little while, the wicked play their part, But their time is fading; they’ll soon depart. Though we once sought them where shadows lay, In the end, their presence will fade away.
(Verse 2) The wicked scheme, against the righteous they conspire, Their gnashing teeth, like flames of unholy fire. But the Lord above, He sees their wicked art. He laughs with righteous mirth, for He knows their heart.
(Chorus) For just a little while, the wicked play their part, But their time is fading; they’ll soon depart. Though we once sought them where shadows lay, In the end, their presence will fade away.
(Verse 3) With swords and bows, they aim to bring us low. The afflicted and the needy, in their path, they sow. But the upright and the just, with faith they hold, The wicked’s arms will break, and their story will be told.
(Chorus) For just a little while, the wicked play their part, But their time is fading; they’ll soon depart. Though we once sought them where shadows lay, In the end, their presence will fade away.
(Bridge) The Lord He upholds the righteous, you see, Preserving their faith for all eternity. While the wicked shall perish, in the winds they sway, Like the glory of pastures, they’ll vanish in a day.
(Verse 4) The faithful saints, the Lord does not forsake, In His loving arms, their refuge they make. Preserved forever, in His tender care, The wicked’s descendants, in due time, shall bear.
(Chorus) For just a little while, the wicked play their part, But their time is fading; they’ll soon depart. Though we once sought them where shadows lay, In the end, their presence will fade away.
(Outro) So, in the face of darkness, let your faith be strong In the Lord’s embrace, where you belong. The wicked, like smoke, shall vanish from sight, But the righteous endure in His eternal light.
