Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.
In Luke 9.1 Jesus gave his disciples power and authority over demons and to cure diseases.
When we are given power, it eventually wears off and only lasts for a duration of time. We saw this with the disciples, as they were still dependant on Jesus after the incident of being given power.
They did great miracles with the power given to them, but it didn’t make them self-reliant.
After Jesus had left them and sent the Holy Ghost, then they knew how to get power.
When taught how to get power or anything, then we are set up for life in that area, and when a situation occurs, we know how to tap into the anointing and the know-how on how to deal with the situation at hand.
We must not depend on someone else to pray for us and give us power; it’s okay for a young believer to be prayed for, but more importantly, we must want to learn how to do for one’s self.
It does take time to master prayers, and every situation is different, but the Holy Spirit will tell us how to approach every situation.
As we mature in the Christian Faith, we rely more on the Holy Spirit. Going to Church is a good thing as it is nice to see fellow believers. However to grow in power, will not happen by listening to a sermon, it’s what we do in our prayer closet that will enable power to come.
We need the power to live and keep on going in life. I have heard that Faith is the currency of the Kingdom, well power is the currency of life. We can only go as far in life as the energy/power we create.
When we have the power we have hope, we can keep on pressing on with a smile on our face, and be a blessing to other people.
As food gives us natural strength, power gives us spiritual and mental strength and helps us see the bigger picture.
Jesus knew that, and that’s why he told his disciples in Acts 1, to wait in Jerusalem for the promise, which was the power of the Holy Spirit. They could not function without it likewise us.
When Jesus said we couldn’t do anything without Him, he meant the power as Jesus is the access to the power.
When you know how to get the power you don’t get depressed, a person is just like a soldier, and you keep on pressing on. You don’t have or entertain pity parties, always looking for the silver lining.
When we have the power we can dream again after failures, have fresh visions, learn from past experiences and mistakes.
Remember the light bulb, {Thomas Edison the inventor of the light bulb;} it took a thousand tries to get it right. That is power at work when you have the power you don’t quit.
Finally, if you call yourself a Christian, you have to know how to get power to protect yourself from those that practice dark magic, you have to know how to send back to the sender every evil spell. This most be done regularly. Most churches are clueless in this area. Spiritual warfare should be the first lesson a person is taught as a Christian. One must be equipped with the right prayers and the skill in how to use them.
I believe most of our unanswered prayers are as a result of the Kingdom of Darkness, those who practice witchcraft and sorcery, There is a lot of it going around in these last days. So ask for wisdom from the Lord today, on how to be super filled with Holy Ghost power.
Until next time, Keep Believing, Keep Hoping & Keep Loving.
Peace. Daniel
