Honouring Our Ancestors.(Poem)

In honour of those whose suffering we recall,
A tribute to ancestors who endured it all,
Through the darkest days of history’s tide,
We remember their strength, their dignity, and pride.

The Transatlantic Slave Trade, a stain so deep,
Millions of souls, in bondage, forced to weep,
A collective tragedy involving many a hand,
In their memory, we take a stand.

From African lands, torn from their homes,
Forced marches and capture, where darkness roams,
In dungeons and chains, their spirits did break,
But their resilience and spirit, no one could take.

On ships of despair, the Middle Passage’s fright,
Overcrowded, inhumane, no escape from the night,
No space to breathe in the sweltering heat,
A journey of horrors, in their eyes, we meet.

Violence and abuse, the whip’s cruel sound,
Innocence shattered on blood-soaked ground,
Thrown overboard, their lives cast away,
In the merciless sea, they found no day.

But survivors emerged with strength in their chests,
In the Americas, where they faced the test,
Families torn, cultures disrupted, dreams torn apart,
Yet they carried their heritage, their African heart.

In their memory, we stand as one,
In their honor, we’ll overcome what’s done,
The pain and cry of our ancestors, we feel,
Their legacy ignites a fire, a zeal.

For a world where equality and justice reign,
In their name, we break every chain,
In honor of those who endured the strife,
We pledge to build a brighter life.

Remember their stories, their courage so grand,
The strength of our ancestors across the land,
In their memory, together, we’ll rise,
For a world where humanity’s bonds will thrive.

Faithful followers of Jesus Christ watch and pray – we are in dark times. Trust NO-ONE until they show themselves trustworthy. They must earn our TRUST.

Until Next time, Keep Believing, Keep Hoping & Keep Loving.
