Knowing my Worth (Poem)

No longer do I wait for a helper embrace,
No longer do I yearn for a love’s gentle grace.
I’ve found my voice in my own strength, I believe,
I’ll speak to myself as I know I should receive.

No more waiting for hands to provide,
The things I was denied deep inside.
I’ve grasped the truth, a beautiful decree,
Responsibility empowers sets my spirit free.

I won’t sit idle, won’t bide my time,
For the world to see my worth in every rhyme.
Drawing the line, I know where I stand,
In the realm of self-love, I’ll make my stand.

I’ve learned my worth; I’ll shout it from the sky,
In my own eyes, I’ll let my value fly high.
For if I know my worth, deep down in my core,
I’ll give myself the love I’ve longed for.

In this world, if you don’t know your worth,
Others may devalue you; that’s their curse.
But armed with self-love, I’ll rise above,
Knowing my worth, I’ll soar like a dove.
