Remembering the Genocide during Christmas (Poem)

To those who gather ’round the tree,
In homes where laughter’s light and free,
Acknowledge, as you celebrate,
The distant hearts that bear the weight.
A prayer for those in Gaza’s night,
Where shadows fall, devoid of light,
For Palestinians, young and old,
Whose stories are often left untold.
They, too, are kin beneath the sky,
With dreams and tears and hopes that fly.
As Christmas bells in joy resound,
Let’s spread the peace that we have found.
So, as you feast and merry make,
A moment of your time, please take,
For those whose Christmas is but a name,
In lands where life’s a different game.
Equality under God, we stand,
Across each sea and stretch of land.
Let’s hold them in our hearts so tight,
And pray for peace this holy night.
