The Accolades of Life (Poem)

The greatest accolades we should seek and desire,

Are not for fame or wealth, nor for climbing higher.

But for our contributions to humanity’s cause,

For making the world better, giving reason to pause.

Where are the peacemakers, the voices for right?

Why do we see leaders who only wage fight?

As humans, we all know the sting of deep loss,

So why do we allow others to pay such a cost?

The power you hold, the authority you wield,

Should be used to foster peace, to let wounds be healed.

No one lives forever; even 120 years that we pursue,

And we’ll account for the things we did and didn’t do.

We need to be enlightened in all that we face,

To put those with Christ consciousness in leadership’s place.

People who embody love, compassion, and grace,

Who understand the pain and give it no space.

We’re waking up now, we see the light clear,

We know what is right, and it is time to reduce the tears.

The accolades of life aren’t in riches or fame,

But in touching humanity, in making peace reign.

Let’s strive to impact the world in a way that’s profound,

Creating a safer place where love does abound.

For you and me, and all the human race,

The accolades of life lie in kindness and grace.
