The Incomparable Power of a Christian 34

The Holy Spirit gives Gifts.

Today I want to write about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit

In Matthew17:21, when the disciples couldn’t cast the demon out of the demoniac boy, and Jesus came to their rescue they asked Jesus why couldn’t cast the demon out of the boy and Jesus replied that this type comes out by praying & fasting. (I recently heard that fasting wasn’t part of the original text, that the Word fasting was added later).

Another way of putting what Jesus said is that; there are different levels of POWER for various tasks. We know that praying & fasting equals to POWER.

Therefore the disciples did not have enough Power to get the job done. If we want to have dominion in this dark World, we will have to get on our knees and PRAY, because PRAYER EQUALS POWER, AMEN

Prophet Isaiah said in the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 41, verse 11, those who strive with you shall PERISH

Strive means: Struggle or fight vigorously, (those who use dark magic on a Christian)

Perish means: Die, especially in a violent or sudden way.

The words of Prophet Isaiah align with Psalm 105:15, “Do not touch My anointed ones And do My Prophets no harm

Anointing means the Power of God, therefore if the Power of God is active on any of His servants and folk uses demonic Power or witchcraft on such individual they are doing it at their own risk.

As Jesus said, this situation (the demoniac boy) requires more Power to cast the demon out, likewise, if an Anointed servant of God has sufficient Power on them at the time of the attack, the perpetrator according to Prophet Isaiah would PERISH.

Power in prayer comes from praying the scriptures (God’s promises) as God’s Word cannot and will not return void; the second type of praying is praying in the Holy Spirit.

It is fair to say when we pray in the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Holy Spirit are coming on us, for sure we know that the gift of Faith comes on us, as in the book of Jude 20 Amplified Bible (AMP)

20 But you, beloved, build yourselves up on [the foundation of] your most holy Faith [continually progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], pray in the Holy Spirit

However, when we are praying in the Holy Spirit, we should earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual gifts [to be used by believers for the benefit of the church], 1 Corinthians 14.1b. Let’s define some keywords here:

Earnestly means: Seriously

Desire means A strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen. Without passion in life, for the most part, we don’t get anything.

Cultivate means: To acquire or develop a skill

In other words, we have to put a demand on the Power of God, and as FAITHFUL as God is, He will give it to us for one purpose only, to be a blessing to His Church, because He will build His church and the gate of Hell WILL NOT prevail against it. Amen

Let’s have a look at the various gifts mentioned by Apostle Paul.

1 Corinthians 12: 8-10.

To one is given through the [Holy] Spirit [the Power to speak] the message of wisdom, and to another [the power to express] the word of knowledge and understanding according to the same Spirit; 9 to another [wonder-working] faith [is given] by the same [Holy] Spirit, and to another the [extraordinary] gifts of healings by the one Spirit; 10 and to another the working of [a]miracles, and to another prophecy [foretelling the future, speaking a new message from God to the people], and to another discernment of spirits [the ability to distinguish sound, godly doctrine from the deceptive doctrine of man-made religions and cults], to another various kinds of [unknown] tongues, and to another interpretation of tongues.

According to the above piece of scripture, we have the following gifts:

  1. Gift of Wisdom
  2. Gift of the Word of Knowledge and understanding
  3. Gift of Faith
  4. Gift of Healing
  5. Gift of Miracles
  6. Gift of Prophecy
  7. Gift of Discerning of Spirits
  8. Gift of tongues
  9. Gift of interpretation of tongues.

Again according to Apostle Paul said we should desire the above spiritual gifts.

I wonder whether a person could operate and flow in all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Based on the Word of God, we can. I believe a person can walk in all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Looking at Jesus’s Ministry, it’s fair to say that Jesus had all the gifts of the Holy Spirit in operation and we can name each of these gifts in various situations in His three years of Ministry

We also have to remember what Jesus said in John 14: 12-13 (Amplified)

12 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, anyone who believes in Me [as Savior] will also do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these [in extent and outreach] because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in My name [[a]as My representative], this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified and celebrated in the Son.

In the above verse, Jesus said whatever we ask in His name to help build His Church; He will give it to us.

In summary, we should earnestly desire more Gifts and pray to the Father in Jesus name so we can take the Body of Christ to another level, and the World we see the long-awaited manifestation of the Children of God Amen.

Remember Jesus Christ is the Light & Saviour of the World.

God Bless
