The Incomparable Power of a Christian 37

The Holy Spirit’s Gift of Faith

All gifts of the Holy Spirit are essential, and they have their place, but the gift of Faith and Faith, in general, has a special place in our relationship with God

Just like in the natural, if we have a relationship with a person we value, we would like it to be cordial.

Likewise our relationship with God, we would want our relationship with our Heavenly Father to be cordial. This way we still trust Him in things we don’t yet understand.

God always wants us to trust Him no matter what.

Therefore to please God as He is Faithful to us, we need an element of faith to please God.

Before I proceed, let’s define the word Faith: (I am going to use the Amplified classic edition)

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

Our senses are given to us for this physical world, and this includes our eyes, but let us not forget that we are dual, ie, we have our physical body, and we are also Spirit.

According to the revelation, God gave the Apostle Paul when we got saved; things changed, in the book of Ephesians 2:6 Amplified Bible (AMP) it writes the following:

6 And He raised us up together with Him [when we believed], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [because we are] in Christ Jesus.

Therefore we know things that are not revealed to our senses; a Christian has the upper hand, as we see things in the spirit realm with our spiritual eyes. Things are made known to us by our Spirit

Let me also point out that, the more we are in the Spirit, the more things will be revealed to us.

Our lifestyle pleases and honors God, and when we mess up, we confess our mistakes, and He forgives us, as He sees us through His Son and the precious blood shed for our past, present, and future mess ups. (I was thinking the other day that God forgives instantly, but man often times does not and even write one-off.) However, what pleases God is our FAITH.

The Importance of Faith in our Relationship with God.

For as the Bible says without faith, it’s impossible to please God. In the Amplified (my favorite version of the Bible) says But without Faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him.

Let me zero in on WALK with God, as the verse says to walk with God, we need faith, and all Christian that believe in God, have faith to a degree. The fact that we Walk and fellowship what is not visible indicates it’s Supernatural.

I guess that’s why when we first got saved, we were all given a measure of faith because without faith, how does one believe in what they can’t see.

In Romans 12.3, Amplified, it says, “as God has apportioned to each a degree of faith [and a purpose-designed for service].”

According to the amplified version, one’s faith is in accordance with one’s calling (purpose designed for service) and each person’s service varies and differs from one believer to another.

Therefore if our faith is in accordance with our calling and we all have different callings, then it means we have different levels of faith, therefore Churches then need the Five fold Ministry, in which we have the Apostles and Prophets Etc. So the body can be fully equipped.

For Apostle Paul to say that He prayed in tongues more that you all, means God graced him to do that, as his calling as an Apostle would require, that he operated at a high level of faith

In as much as some of us know the ways to build up our faith, its Grace that enables us to carry the duty out, it’s one thing to know and another thing to do it, and it’s Grace that helps us to be diligent in doing.

Therefore those that have and operate in the gift of faith please God. The question is, can we all have and operate in the Gift of Faith?

I believe so; however, our reason for wanting this gift has to be for the work of the Lord.

As I mentioned earlier, it takes God to grace us with a diligent spirit to do what needs to be done to operate in the Gift of Faith continuously.
