The Holy Spirit’s Gift of Faith 2
The Spirit of Faith, according to 2 Corinthians 4:13, is to Believe and then Speak. Our Lord Jesus Christ also calls this Great Faith.
Great is defined as the ability, quality, or eminence considerably above average. Great Faith is mentioned by Jesus twice in the scriptures, but I am only going to focus on Matthew 8: verse 8, the centurion said SAY the Word, and my servant shall be healed. The centurion went further to say that he also is a person subject to authority.
Talking about Authority, Jesus said in Matthew 28:18 All authority (all Power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Us. Now since we are Jesus’s followers, we have the authority that Jesus had, which is all Power of absolute rule in Heaven and Earth.
People in authority know when they give a command, it must be carried out. Therefore when we say/ speak the Word of God, it must happen (just what we said).
Spiritual warfare, for instance, is Saying and Speaking the Word of God, and it works; that’s the reason I am still standing.
God has given us the tools (His Word, The Holy Spirit, the Name of Jesus, and the Blood of Jesus), and these tools are mighty in God, but to top all this up, He has given us authority.
I was in New York recently, and I visited, to the Church (Brooklyn Tabernacle), in which I got water baptized this was around 20 years ago.
In a meeting with Pastor Lincoln at The Brooklyn Tabernacle, I couldn’t help but reminisce the time when I was a baby Christian, and I would go to him for advice, and how the Christian walk seemed hard.
I will still seek counsel from a Pastor, as accountability is vital for a Christian, but in regards to spiritual warfare, I have learned a lot over the years.
Now in my journey, I have seen how speaking the Word of God works. In my numerous encounters with spiritual warfare, I have seen speaking/saying the Word of God work over and over again.
The Holy Spirit will also show us the damage caused to the enemy by SAYING / SPEAKING the Word of God.
The Good thing about prayer / Saying the Word of God is, you can do it alone in the four corners of your room. Thank God for meetings with fellow believers and praying together, as it has its place.
However, when the enemy wants to attack you; he would make sure you are alone; hence one MUST know how to be alone and pray, just like our Saviour Jesus Christ, He often prayed alone.
Over the years, I have cultivated the habit of praying alone, and as an introvert, it’s my choice type of prayer.
Back to the Spirit of Faith, when one is in the zone/ in the spirit, one is in the atmosphere of POWER, and in the place, where our spoken words are more effective.
We also have to realize the Faith and Power depletes; we have to keep on topping it up; that’s why the Bible says we should pray without ceasing (1Thessalonians 5:16).
Another critical aspect of the Spirit of Faith can we found in Jude 20, But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy Faith [[a]make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit;
The above verse does two things, and it builds up Faith and Power. It’s fair to say if one has Spiritual Power, one has Faith, and if one has Faith, one has Spiritual Power.
What we must also bear in mind, just like anything else in life, we get out of a thing what we put into it.
The Word “according to” (used by Jesus Christ in regards to Faith and Apostle Paul about Power) is defined as in proportion or relation to.
Let’s start with the verse from Jesus Christ, from Matthew 9:29 (amplified) “According to your faith [your trust and confidence in My power and My ability to heal] it will be done to you.”
We have to have trust and confidence in the Word’s (Jesus) Power and Ability. In the beginning, was the Word and became flesh. (Jesus)
The Bible also says that Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. (Romans 10:17).
In other words, it’s by the proportion of us hearing the Word of God that will equate to our Faith.
The other verse that used the word ‘according‘ is Apostle Paul and he used it concerning Power, and this can be found in the book of Ephesians3.20 (Amplified)
‘Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do super-abundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us.‘
Looking at both of these two verses that have the Word according, indicates the onus is on us, we get out what we put in.
Even if we have the Spirit of Faith as a gift, we still have to work it. A proper and powerful technique is praying in our most Holy Faith (gets rid of doubt) for an hour or so and release it through the Spoken Word of God, now you will see the enemy on the run.
An indication of Faith is Peace, even if we haven’t physically seen the manifestation.
Remember, Jesus Christ is the Light & Saviour of the World.
God Bless
Until Next time, Keep Believing, Keep Hoping & Keep Loving.
