The Righteous and the Wicked (Poem)

Two paths emerge from the gathering gloom in life’s vast garden, where choices bloom. The righteous, blessed, in wisdom they confide; in God’s law and grace, they choose to abide.

They walk not with the wicked, who deceive, Nor linger where scoffers their falsehoods weave. In the law of the Lord, their hearts find delight, Meditating day and night; in its wisdom, they take flight.

Like trees by streams, they’re firmly set, Their fruit in season, they never forget. Their leaves evergreen, never to decay; in all they do, they find their way.

But the wicked, like chaff, blown by the breeze, With no substance or worth, they aim to appease. In the judgment’s fire, they shall not stand; in the company of the righteous, they’re banned.

For the Lord knows well the righteous way, Guiding them through night and day. But the wicked’s path shall fade and perish; in God’s judgment, their deeds they’ll cherish.

So, in life’s journey, choose your side; in God’s righteous law, let your heart abide. For in the end, the righteous shall endure, While the wicked’s fate remains obscure.©
