The Righteous and the Wicked (Song)

(Verse 1) In the counsel of the wicked, I won’t roam, I won’t stand with sinners or make their path my home, I won’t sit with scoffers, who mock and deride, My delight’s in the Lord’s law, in His wisdom, I confide.

(Chorus) I am like a tree by the water’s grace, Fruitful in due season, in every rightful place, My leaves won’t wither, my roots run deep and strong, In all I do, I prosper, and I sing this song.

(Verse 2) But the wicked are like chaff, the wind’s fleeting breath, Without substance or worth, they face impending death, In the judgment’s fire, they shall not withstand, In the righteous’ assembly, they won’t find their stand.

(Chorus) I am like a tree by the water’s grace, Fruitful in due season, in every rightful place, My leaves won’t wither, my roots run deep and strong, In all I do, I prosper, and I sing this song.

(Bridge) For the Lord knows the righteous, their hearts so pure and true, In His favor and grace, they will always find their due, But the wicked’s path will vanish, like a fading star, In God’s light, they’ll perish, and that’s how the story goes so far.

(Outro) So let us choose the righteous way to tread, In God’s loving guidance, by His Word be led, For in the end, it’s clear for all to see, The righteous find their home, and the wicked’s way shall flee.
