Mastering the Soul & keeping it well- The Power of the mind 1
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers” 3 John 1:2
As Christians, we know Jesus Christ to be the Son of God, however people during His lifetime on earth, those who didn’t necessarily believe Him to be the son of God, yet they still called Him Master.
Master means to acquire complete knowledge or skill in (a subject, technique, or art).
Jesus as we know, did acquire complete knowledge of things of the spirit and His Father‘s Kingdom, the question is how far can you and I go in becoming the type of Master Jesus was, Let’s not forget, He did promise that we would do greater works since we have the Holy Spirit.
To become a Master requires a lot of discipline, we need to be hungry. My question is does God have to allow, permit life circumstance that would enable us to want more of the greater works that Jesus promised.
To answer my question, I would say yes, but it’s not easy however once specific skills and gifts have been acquired, they can use them to be a blessing.
Looking at the Bible verse above it says even as your soul keeps well and prospers. Let me break this down a little bit.
Keep well means keep healthy, then how do we keep our soul healthy? Now the Bible doesn’t really say anything in regards to keeping our soul healthy, however since the mind is the center of the soul we do have some scriptures on the mind from both King Solomon (wisest person in the Old Testament) & Apostle Paul.
The Bible says that the Lord covers my head in the day of battle, (Psalm 140:7) when the enemy wants to mind control people, if one is sensitive one would feel it in one’s head first, then if caution is not taken then the effect of this would manifest in a person’s feeling. Even spirit warfare the attacks are all felt in the head, such as waking up with a headache. Etc. These attacks are designed to affect how a person thinks.
Proverbs 23.7 says as a person thinks in their heart, so are they. This verse is so powerful, not only from attacks from the enemy’s perspective, but there is a positive side to it.
On the positive side what we think we can be manifested, this is disciplined, focused thinking, this does require Mastering, that’s why I said Jesus mastery came by diligent practice of things of the spirit, that’s why he said it’s according to us. (According to your faith).
Apostle Paul put it this way: whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honourable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there are any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].
Even most people that suffer from depression starts with their thinking.
To be continued.
Anyway, wonderful people, May God Bless you richly and keep you safe.
Remember Jesus Christ is the Light & Saviour of the World.
God Bless
Until Next time, keep Believing, Keep Hoping & Keep Loving.
