Lift up a standard (Poem)

Lift up a standard, though not by my might,
In the Lord’s power, I find my light.
New faces, new foes, I watch and discern,
Ready to face them, born prepared to discern.

Sitting arrangements and schemes anew,
I’m vigilant, watching all that you do.
I reflect, I discern, don’t underestimate,
Like a chess game, my enemies I navigate.

From the west to the east, His name does resound,
His glory, a beacon, forever unbound.
When enemies flood like a raging tide,
The Spirit of the Lord, in Him, I confide.

Lift up a standard, let it be known,
In His strength, my foundation is stone.
I stand unwavering against the darkest of days,
For in His presence, my spirit always stays.
