There must be Another way (Poem)

There must be another way, we plea today,
In Gaza’s turmoil, where hearts in anguish sway.
Muslims, Christians, all in need of peace,
In this strife-torn land, let conflicts cease.

It’s not about religion but humanity’s cry,
For a civil, humane path, reaching for the sky.
Genocide is not the way; it’s barbaric, it’s vile,
In the name of love, let’s walk another mile.

“We are asking you to be our voice. Please help, call for a ceasefire to stop the bombs.” Zaynab, a British-Palestinian student at Manchester University, went to Gaza with her family two days before the war broke out. She says they have tried to contact officials in the UK government, including their MP and UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly, to help them return to England, but to no avail. They are now seeking help on social media platforms to raise awareness of their plight and to pressure the UK government to evacuate its citizens from the besieged strip.

To the Creator of the universe, we make our call,
In this dark hour, as the shadows fall.
Intervene, bring hope, bring light to this place,
End the suffering, and let love’s grace embrace.

The Genocide must cease now, for the people’s sake,
A ceasefire, we beg, for humanity’s stake.
A two-state solution, a path that’s clear,
To bring lasting peace, let it be sincere.
