Fresh Oil (Poem)

The Divine is on high forever; Your glory shines so bright,

Thank you for anointing us with fresh oil in Your Holy light.

For behold, Your adversaries, O Lord, they fade away,

Your enemies perish; all evildoers will stray.

But our horn, a symbol of strength and grace so grand,

You have exalted us like a wild ox by Your divine hand.

We are anointed with fresh oil, Your blessing pure and true,

Our eyes see those who wait for us; our ears hear evildoers, too.

They don’t know we are anointed with fresh oil, by Your decree,

In Your power, we stand tall; in Your strength, we are free.

The righteous shall flourish like a palm, long-lived and strong,

Majestic as the cedars of Lebanon, in Your courts, they belong.

Planted in the presence of the Lord, we flourish evermore,

In the courts of our God, we stand strong and sure.

Growing in grace, we bring forth fruit in old age,

Full of spiritual vitality, our hearts Your love engage.

Living memorials to show Your upright, faithful ways,

God, our Rock, no unrighteousness in You sways.

Thank you for anointing us with fresh oil, in Your Holy light,

In Your presence, we are nourished; in Your love, we take flight
