Here Am I, Send Me (Poem)

Then I heard the voice of the Lord declare,

“Whom shall I send, who will rise and care?”

Without hesitation, my heart did agree,

I said, “Here am I. Send me, Lord, send me.”

God spoke with sorrow, a warning so deep,

“Tell the people, though they hear, they sleep.

Their eyes are open, but they will not see,

Their hearts are hardened; from truth, they flee.”

For man has wandered, astray in their pride,

Playing at God, with deception as their guide.

Manipulation, wicked schemes unfurled,

They twist the ways of light in this broken world.

Judgment will fall on those who deceive,

Who calls the lie truth, making others believe

Who substitute darkness for shining bright,

Calling the bitter-sweet and the wrong as right.

Woe to the wise in their haughty gaze,

To the clever and cunning, lost in their ways.

But still, there’s a call for those willing to see,

To stand for the truth—Lord, send me, send me.

Turn from the wickedness, cast off your chains,

For the day of reckoning, justice reigns.

Yet mercy waits for those who turn,

In the heart of the Lord, there’s healing to earn.

So here I stand, in Your holy decree,

In the face of corruption, send me, Lord, send me.

For the light will rise as truth is revealed,

And in You alone, the broken are healed.
