Remembering Palestine in 2025 (Poem)

As the new year dawns with a hopeful light,
We turn our thoughts to Gaza’s night.
A land of sorrow, yet strength untold,
Its stories of pain, both young and old.
We pray for change, for peace to rise,
For the bombs to cease, for clearer skies.
A new government now holds the key,
May justice bloom where none could see.
Oh, President Carter, your voice remains,
A call for peace through strife and pains.
You spoke of hope, of love’s great fight,
Peace Not Apartheid—a guiding light.
Palestine, you’re not forgotten here,
Though your suffering brings us to tears.
Forgive us for our helpless plea,
For standing by so helplessly.
The court has ruled, the crimes are named,
Yet still the torment stays the same.
The verdict echoes, but action stalls,
While horror builds behind your walls.
To you, Palestine, we send our prayers,
May 2025 bring justice fair.
A future free, a life renewed,
A day where peace is long pursued.
Your spirit is strong, your will survives,
Through endless trials, your hope still thrives.
A testament to the human soul,
Unbroken, yearning to be whole.
May God bless your people, hold you near,
And dry the flood of every tear.
We’ll echo Carter’s timeless plea,
Peace for Palestine—so let it be.
Through Gaza’s streets, may joy return,
Where candles flicker, where hearts still yearn.
For freedom’s song and love’s embrace,
To finally heal this sacred space.
