Part 1: Answering the Call – Recognizing Our Divine Purpose
The World Needs Change—Why Us?
Every era has its own challenges, struggles, and injustices. The world today is in dire need of transformation—from moral decay and spiritual decline to economic injustice and societal divisions. But the question that often echoes in the hearts of many is: Why us? Why me?
The answer lies in the divine purpose placed upon each of us. We are not here by accident. We are positioned in this time and place for a reason. God does not randomly place people on Earth; He orchestrates lives with precision and intention. We are the ones who see the brokenness, feel the burden, and recognize the need for change. If not us, then who? If not now, then when?
Change does not come from waiting on someone else to take action. It comes from the courageous, the willing, and the obedient—those who answer the call with faith and determination. We have been chosen to be the light in dark times, the voice in the silence, and the hope for those who have lost their way.
Understanding Our Mission in the Grand Design
Recognizing our divine purpose starts with understanding that we are part of a greater plan. God’s design for humanity has always involved people willing to step up and take responsibility. We are not just individuals moving through life aimlessly; we are part of a divine blueprint.
God equips those He calls. The mission we are given is not meant to overwhelm us but to refine us. He strengthens us, gives us wisdom, and prepares our hearts for the work ahead. Our mission is to be the change—to stand for truth, to uplift the brokenhearted, and to challenge the systems of oppression and injustice that hinder God’s kingdom from flourishing on Earth.
To walk in this mission, we must develop an unshakable connection with God. It is through Him that we receive guidance, courage, and discernment. The more we immerse ourselves in His presence, the clearer our assignment becomes.
Biblical and Historical Examples of World-Changers
Throughout history, we see countless individuals who answered the call and brought about immense change. Some were ordinary people, yet their faith and obedience led them to do extraordinary things.
- Moses: A man who doubted his ability to lead, yet God used him to free the Israelites from bondage in Egypt. He was called to challenge the greatest empire of his time, despite his personal insecurities.
- Esther: A young woman who risked her life to save her people. She could have remained silent, but she recognized that she was placed in her position “for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14).
- Jesus Christ: The ultimate world-changer. His mission was to bring salvation, light, and truth to humanity. He fearlessly spoke against corruption and injustice, even at the cost of His life.
- Martin Luther King Jr.: A man of faith who refused to accept racial inequality and fought for justice with love and nonviolence. His courage reshaped history.
- Mother Teresa: A woman who dedicated her life to serving the poor and destitute, proving that true change happens when we serve with love and humility.
Each of these figures stepped beyond their fears, limitations, and societal norms to fulfill their God-given purpose. Their examples remind us that change starts with a single person willing to say “yes” to God’s call.
Overcoming Self-Doubt and Embracing the Call
One of the biggest obstacles to answering the call is self-doubt. Many feel unqualified, unworthy, or incapable of making a difference. But God has never called the perfect; He perfects the called.
Common Fears and How to Overcome Them:
- “I’m not good enough.” Remember Moses? He believed he wasn’t eloquent enough to speak for God. But God reassured him: “I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say” (Exodus 4:12). When God calls, He equips.
- “I’m afraid of what others will think.” Esther had to overcome this fear. She knew that speaking up could cost her life, but she chose courage over comfort. When we stand for truth, there will always be opposition, but pleasing God should always take precedence over pleasing people.
- “I don’t know where to start.” Begin with prayer. Seek God’s wisdom and allow Him to reveal the next step. Often, obedience starts with small acts of faith that lead to greater impact.
Embracing the call requires trust. We must trust that God’s plan is greater than our fears, and that His power is made perfect in our weaknesses (2 Corinthians 12:9). When we surrender to Him fully, we become vessels through which He works miracles.
Conclusion
We are the change the world needs to see. It is not by accident that we are alive today. We have been sent for a reason—to challenge injustice, to speak truth, to love deeply, and to reflect God’s light. Heaven and earth are waiting for us to step into our calling. The time is now.
Let us rise with boldness, knowing that our strength comes from God above. As we move forward in faith, we become part of the legacy of world-changers who dared to believe in a higher purpose. The world is watching. Heaven is watching. Will we answer the call?
