The Holy Spirit helps us in our Spiritual awakening Journey.
My main focus lately is how to be fully awakened as a person in the Christian faith, as you will agree, Spiritual awakening is a lifetime journey and process.
According to somernation.com, A spiritual awakening can generally be defined as a newfound awareness of a spiritual reality.
Scottjeffrey.com puts it this way. Spiritual awakening is an awakening of a dimension of reality beyond the confines of the ego. (Mind) The ego is our exclusive sense of self or “I.” This awakening occurs when, for whatever reason, the ego (mind) somehow let’s go so that a Higher Self or Spirit can arise within.
Ego means mind.
The Great Apostle Paul, from one of his writing , we would notice his main object was to get us on this Spiritual awakening path journey.
At the beginning of the book of Galatians Chapter 1 verse 1, he describes himself as Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;).
It’s fair to say Apostle Paul’s primary mentor was the Holy Spirit, not men nor man; he was called by Jesus Christ. Therefore, let’s find out the meaning of our Lord’s name.
The name Jesus is derived from the Hebrew name Yeshua, which is based on the Semitic root y-š-ʕ (Hebrew: ישע), meaning “to deliver;, save, to rescue.” Yeshua, and it’s longer form, Yehoshua, or Joshua and is the literal Hebrew word for Salvation.
Christ means The Power of God and the Wisdom of God. 1 Corinthians1.24.
This Christ – The Power and Wisdom of God must be formed in us; this is the key to our Salvation, being saved and rescued by Jesus, our Lord.
This awakening equals to the manifestations of the sons of God – Christ formed in us. .
On the journey of Spiritual awakening, some vicinities ( including religious) and people would hinder the process and one’s progress. We must always pray for divine wisdom, what I have observed recently from meditating on divine wisdom verses, is that, it makes a lot of difference.
God’s wisdom will always direct our steps, and I also believe I sincerely believe to see the manifestation of sons of God, it must happen personally (on a personal level with the Holy Spirit)
Apostle Paul explains in Galatians 4, who we are; that’s why the Christian faith is more than a motivational message.
Motivational messages are fine and have their place, but don’t we think it’s about time for the world to see the manifestation of the Sons of God.
Technically we might call ourselves sons and daughters of God, however, the truth is that we grow into son-ship, in other words, we have to awaken, and this is a process with steps involved.
Apostle Paul gives some insight into being an heir of God (sons and daughters of God)
Let’s see Galatians 4
The Amplified titles this Son-ship in Christ.
Now what I mean [when I talk about children and their guardians] is this: as long as the heir is a child, he does not differ at all from a slave even though he is the [future owner and] master of all [the estate];
2 but he is under [the authority of] guardians and household administrators or managers until the date set by his father [when he is of legal age].
3 So also we [whether Jews or Gentiles] when we were children (spiritually immature), were kept like slaves under the elementary [human-made religious or philosophical] teachings of the world.
4 But when [in God’s plan] the proper time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the [regulations of the] Law,
5 so that He might redeem and liberate those who were under the Law, that we [who believe] might be adopted as sons [as God’s children with all rights as fully grown members of a family].
6 And because you [really] are [His] sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out, [a] “Abba! Father!”
7 Therefore you are no longer a slave (bond-servant), but a son; and if a son, then also an heir through [the gracious act of] God [through Christ].
But at that time, when you did not know [the true] God and were unacquainted with Him, you [Gentiles] were slaves to those [pagan] things which by [their very] nature were not and could not be gods at all.
9 Now, however, since you have come to know [the true] God [through personal experience], or rather to be known by God, how is it that you are turning back again to the weak and worthless elemental principles [of religions and philosophies], to which you want to be enslaved all over again?
10 [For example,] you observe [particular] days and months and seasons and years.
11 I fear for you that perhaps I have labored [to the point of exhaustion] over you in vain.
Please allow me to show you the voice version of Bible Galatians 4: 1-11
Listen. I am going to explain how this all works: When a minor inherits an estate from his parents, although he is the owner of everything, he is the same as a slave.
2 Until the day set by his father, the minor is subject to the authorities or guardians whom his father put in charge.
3 It is like that with us; there was a time when we were like children held under the elemental powers of this world.
4 When the right time arrived, God sent His Son into this world (born of a woman, subject to the Law)
5 to free those who, just like Him, were subject to the Law. Ultimately He wanted us all to be adopted as sons and daughters.
6 Because you are now part of God’s family, He sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts; and the Spirit calls out, “Abba, Father.”
7 You no longer have to live as a slave because you are a child of God. And since you are His child, God guarantees an inheritance is waiting for you.
“Abba” is an address spoken by children to their fathers expressing intimacy and respect. It would not be out-of-the-question to think of it as “Dad,” or “Daddy.”
8 During the time before you knew God, you were slaves to powers that are not gods at all.
9 But now, when you are just beginning to know the one True God—actually, He is showing how completely He knows you—how can you turn back to weak and worthless idols made by men, icons of these spiritual powers?
Haven’t you endured enough bondage to these breathless idols?
10 You are observing particular days, months, festival seasons, and years;
11 you have me worried that I may have wasted my time laboring among you.
I find verse 10, fascinating, Apostle says you are observing particular days, and we call them birthday’s months, festival seasons, and years. – We have Christmas and Easter – all these PAGAN holidays, and we fit them are Jesus’s birth and death.
God wants CHRIST (His Power & Wisdom) formed in us. It’s time we wake up.
From experience, I don’t think religion can awaken a person, it’s personal, and often, God has to get our attention. We take our awaken state to eternity; our soul comes to this time and space reality to grow (how much of God can be formed in us).
Finally, let me leave you with one of my favorite verses Galatian1: 10
Am I now [trying to win the favor and approval of men, or of God? Or am I seeking to please someone? If I were still trying to be popular with men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.
Ultimately we are bond servants to the Power & Wisdom of God, which is on the inside of us, and we must obey the directions of this incredible force.
To be continued.
Remember, Jesus Christ is the Light & Saviour of the World.
God Bless
