The Value of the Human Soul 20

A wise soul guards the heart. 1

When the Bible says the heart, it is referring to our mind.

Let’s look at Proverbs 4: 23.

The importance of this verse can be seen in the different versions of the bible.

King James Version:

Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of Life.

Another version puts it this way:
Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of Life.

The New living translation says:

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Finally, the Amplified versions.

Watch over your heart with all diligence,
For from it flow the springs of Life.

Pondering on the above verses shows the seriousness of the above subtitle.

Sometimes, we think, people should know things because we do.

Adults should know this spiritual truth, but my focus here is really the younger generation.

The younger have a lot of distractions because of the advancement of technology, Social media, music, and video games. etc

Things enter our heart by what we see and hear. –

The Eye-gate and the Ear gate. Also the wicked – can use witchcraft to plant evil, in a person’s brain and brainwash a person which could affect the heart.

The remedy for dealing with the wicked is prayer & or meditation praise and worship and knowing what the word of God says.

Dealing with the eye and ear gate, we can choose what we listen to and the movies we watch, as it will have an impact on a person’s mind, which will affect the heart.

Another way to guard your heart and belief system, is you have to be selective with the people you hang around because ultimately we become who hang around.

There is a saying that goes like this “Show me your friends and I will tell you who you are.”

What’s in our heart ultimately comes out of our mouth. Luke 6.45 “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” In other words what’s in a person’s heart affects one’s belief system for the better or worse.

The good news is that we can re-programme the mind, to align with the Word of God, the Bible calls it renewing the mind.

Therefore if one’s notices doubt, negativity and unbelief in one’s thinking, this can be flushed out and replaced with Faith , Positivity, Hope and Love etc.

A mind can be reprogrammed by listening, reading and watching, it’s vital we know the promises and the Word of God because everything in this World is subject to change.

I said above that we become who we hang around when we hang around God – His Word, we become a little like Him, we start to develop the faith of God.

God wants us to have faith, that’s why He wants us to seek His Kingdom first, and get an understanding of how the spirit world operates and the power, therefore.
