You Looked in the Mirror (Poem)

You looked in the mirror, searching deep within,
To see if the way you feel inside, shows on your skin.
A reflection of your journey, the weight of the past,
And in that moment, you knew change must come at last.
You looked in the mirror and saw the patterns unfold,
Of actions and flaws, the stories untold.
Recognizing the wounds, the scars you must heal,
You knew it was time to embrace something real.
The first step forward is seeing what’s wrong,
Deciding to change, where you’ve stayed too long.
To heal the old pain, let the past fade away,
To rise with a new purpose with each dawning day.
Letting all things become new, like a fresh morning dew,
You’re accountable now to the treasure in you.
The Lord has entrusted this vessel of clay,
So, ask for His help as you walk in His way.
For He says, “Come to Me, all who are worn,
I’ll refresh your soul, though the world may scorn.
My burden is light, My yoke easy to bear,
In Me, you’ll find rest, free from worry and care.”
And as you look in the mirror, you might change what you see,
Outward reflections can align with who you’re meant to be.
The new person within, rising to the light,
Healing from the inside, now ready to take flight.
So keep up the excellent work; your soul is in repair,
You’ve looked in the mirror, and now you are aware.
The change has begun, both inside and out,
And what was once hidden will now start to shout.
